Masters at work

Today we have been looking after one of our granddaughters. Emily is 7 and a bright young thing, very lively and always wanting to "do something" :-)

She arrived with her bags full of board games, colouring books, pens, craft sets. Typically, Isn't it always the way when the children are off school, it rains!! So, we passed the day with Game of Life, then Sponge Bob Square Pants, the Movie!. After Emily demolished a large bowl of Spaghetti Bolognese for lunch, we resumed with some crafts. When she goes back to school, she has to take in something she has made recycling a bottle. I had a small plastic water bottle, immediately Emily said, can we make a Butterfly..........so we did :-)

Then whilst I had a break, grandad played chess with her......she is surprisingly good, and really understands all the pieces and their respect moves, not bad for a seven year old ;-)
When she didn't win, grandad taught her how to play Draughts, and she quickly beat him, twice!!! It was a light tea for Emily before we dropped her back at daughters in time for gymnastics.

A quiet night in tonight I think ;-)
