Richmond Almshouses
A little more Richmond street history after yesterday's effort... up the street towards Sheen there's a big old row of almshouses set back in very nice gated grounds, established by a very "munificent" (great word) fellow by the name of William Hickey.
Lovely old buildings and very well preserved too. I love the very precise inscription of how many poor men and women they could accommodate.
To say they were built for the poor, they're probably worth a fortune now!
