We had a brief trip into Manchester and wandered around looking at the hundreds of red lanterns celebrating Chinese New Year and ended up beside the Golden Dragon.   According to Chinese mythology dragons are regarded as being helpful and wise and their breath gives energy and life.  The Golden Dragon here was struggling to find the energy to keep upright in the wind (extra) and apparently he was later ‘sleeping’ but no doubt he will revive in time for the very special celebrations on Sunday when his colourful cousin will dance around the streets.
