Morning visitor

Good morning Mr Warthog.

We sipped our morning coffee on the verandah and wished that the trees at the end of the garden weren't so established so that we could see the Zambezi behind them.  As our coffee slowly woke us up, a warthog came through the garden, sniffing and snuffling away, the digging at something of note with his great tusks. After a while, he just ambled away, not a care in the world.

Other visitors today were less welcome - a monkey who came in through the burglar bars to take a box of juice (or try to, and spill it all over the floor).  Then a not-so-friendly baboon took advantage of a split second timing when I left the kitchen to ask a question in the living room, he left with a 2kg bag of sugar and some cake.  I think he was in for a sugar high.  2kg being the smallest amount of sugar we could buy in Vic Falls.

Our day of intruders had a lovely end with an evening cruise along the Zambezi, sadly, not a huge amount of game to view.  We did see a huge crocodile on the banks and got up rather close for a look.  I was grateful to be on the upper deck for that one.  The boy, as ever, charmed everyone in sight as he had his dinner whilst cruising up and down the river.  Obviously he won’t remember anything of this life of luxury.
