Lumix : Light

I like these blip challenges. Although on this one, if the weather had been like yesterday's, I would have struggled. Fortunately, a very different sky today - full of interest in fact. And the sun, peeping through clouds and ever changing the light, made it.

Outline planning permission was granted for Media City in October 2006. The BBC did not want an "iconic' building, in fact they did not want to own a building at all. So "iconic" buildings are carefully avoided. 

A good thing - anything with the tag "iconic" I view with some suspicion (or hilarity - the place I swim on Sunday mornings proudly sports the words "an iconic facility" on its exterior). But the whole place can have a certain magic, and looks very different depending on the weather - and the sky - as the glass fronted buildings produce the most wonderful reflections. And this afternoon was one of those days when the reflections were just fantastic. And the place looked  - well, a bit "iconic". 

The theme continued as I left for home. Sitting in a queue on Worsley Road, the sky was a mix of wonderful colours. The extra tries to record it, although no camera phone sensor can really do it justice.
