Freezing in the bird hide

I went along with a good friend, to the Wolseley Centre, to the bird hide, hoping that the kingfisher would put in an appearance.

We had a couple of fly past visits, but he didn't arrive on either of the perches close to the bird hide.

It was freezing - but we saw plenty of small bird action, including this lovely female bullfinch - and the little grebes emerged from their well camouflaged spot just on the opposite bank.
