Happy New Year
After arriving back from the hospital at 01.30am I spent the rest of the night in a strange state of aggravated sleep wrapped in a duvet, sitting upright. I think what happened was that the part of my brain that deals with sleep was so annoyed with the part that insisted on coughing that it went to sleep anyway and refused to be disturbed anymore by the antics of its neighbour.
It took a little time for my warring mind to focus on a shot for today's crucial challenge and even longer to put it all together only to find someone had already used the idea and much more creatively than me.
No matter, here's my contribution. I came across Blip three years ago in the very house we're staying at now. So that's fitting. Blip fits my warped approach to life, the universe and everything; once committed, can't stop, addicted to keeping records, for example kept a record of the total number of lengths swum, kilometres swam, visits to the pool, monthly, yearly averages since 1988 to date (probably towards one end of the autistic spectrum)
But Blip is more than that. Greater than the sum of its parts; recording your life, improving your photography, opening your eyes to seeing things that have always been there but you've never noticed, meeting people up and down the country and around the world, creating virtual friendships as valuable as real ones. But, most of all it is the people, the incredible, diverse community of talented and inspirational people that makes Blip what it is and makes Blip what it is for me.
Happy New Year to you all and especially blipper who follow me or whom I follow and I sincerely hope we'll all be around this time next year to celebrate another new year, all being well with blipfuture
