6619 crosses with 32678 at Wittersham Road

Terrier 32678 waits in the loop while 6619 14.18 ex Bodiam passes on the through line on its penultimate turn before being withdrawn from service owing to the expiry of its 10 year boiler certificate.

Today was the last running day of the season on the Kent and East Sussex Railway and we took the opportunity to ride the trains rather than working as a volunteer. I wanted to see 6619 on its last day in service as I'm a shareholder in the locomotive and I'll not see it in service again for a few years.

Shame it was such a dull day for the event, but never mind, it was an enjoyable day out even if we did have first class tickets for a train that did not have any first class carriages.
