Quiet before the storm(s)

Into town for a visit to the physio this morning - I'm starting to think I should get some sort of loyalty card - but a productive session which hopefully will rid me of a couple of annoying little tweaks that just haven't wanted to shift themselves over recent weeks. & yes - I'm well aware its one of the joys of such an active lifestyle (refusing to say getting older!)
Mrs IttH came into town with me - I'd warned her after yesterday's trip that it could be chaos - but first thing the roads were deserted - so we even managed to get a seat in Farrer's - it's not the best coffee house in Kendal - but it's certainly the oldest - established in 1813 as a coffee merchant - in a building that was already old at the time (circa 1650) - the coffee is great - but the service can be dreadful - so finding it quiet with a seat by the window & fire was a great start. Just in the half hour or so we lingered town got busier & busier - by the time we left people were queuing to get in.
Whilst its Christmas tomorrow there was however only one topic of conversation today - at the coffee house, physio & florist everyone raised the spectre of Storm Eva - following on so fast from Desmond, whilst the water has barely receded - she is due to hit us sometime Friday and last through to Saturday,it will be a fraught Christmas for many.

*I'm aware that for many of you who I chat & laugh with Christmas will come at wildly different times - so I'll say Merry Christmas now & wish peace, love & happiness for you & all who you hold dear.
