A dry day at last
Not waking to rain was lovely today - but it's not forecast to last with Eva looking likely to be an unwelcome guest this Christmas.
It meant the chaps who are putting drainage pipes through the stone walls at the bottom of the garden came & got done - I'm not sure it will work all that well but every gallon less that's held in must be a good thing somewhere.
Annoyingly let down with an appointment in town today - meaning I drove in just to get stuck in the chaos that seems to exponentially increase every year - people were queuing for nearly half a mile to get into the supermarket - its closed for one day, crazy.
On the drive back I detoured along another local lane I've not been down since the floods - the sorry sight of smashed holiday caravans that had been parked up for the winter was only slightly compensated for by the glorious colour of the sun bursting forth over the Howgills.
