Vignetted pied stilt- poaka

I got to the estuary today. It seemed so long since I had been there. Tide on the way out so lots of birds but not close. Except for the nesting pied stilts which flew round and round me warning me off with their shrill cries. I got one half decent image of a flying one which I vignetted as it was against very pale blue sky.
A calmer day, sunny and hot. We went to Kaiteriteri to find hundreds of people swimming and sunbathing. Campers already arriving too. Plenty of scantily clad people, so summer must be here.
