She's gone

I got a phone call this evening to tell me that one of my closest and best friends died very suddenly at the weekend.  I last saw her on Monday last week when we met for chips, beer and a catchup about my trip to India, as she had been there a few years ago.  Then we went to the Sing with Pride christmas quiz and Deb was on great form. 

She gave me a pair of shoes a year or so ago and this is one half of them.  The other shoe says 'Lady' but the lady has gone now.  To say that I am devastated is putting it mildly.  She was just 49.
