On the A1 near Gateshead

Travelled from Kent to Edinburgh today, which pretty much took up all the day. Left at 9.30 and arrived at 6.30 which was pretty good going. A very pleasant and mostly enjoyable journey which passed quickly and most importantly, safely.

This shot was taken from the moving car as we were passing near Gateshead. I looked out of the window and for a fleeting moment the skies were lit by the setting sun and were unobstructed by roadside buildings or embankments.
