Canterbury Bells
I thought it would be easy to get a blip today. Unusually I had the car with me at work in Derby, so I had packed my tripod and big lenses with the idea of a spin into the city centre at lunchtime to get a shot of the peregrines on the cathedral tower.
Unfortunately when lunchtime arrived so did the rain clouds and I got soaked in an abortive trip.Typically it stopped raining soon after I got back to the office. No matter, I thought, I'll take a small detour on my way home and take some photos in the parkland of Calke Abbey. As soon as I drove onto the estate though the heavens opened again.
I headed back to the motorway and decided on another detour closer to home to try my luck at Packwood House. This time I found the approach road was closed for some unexplained reason, so there was no access to the house.
So I have fallen back on the last resort of an image from the garden as my blip for today. This campanula has put on its best ever display this year, which is surprising given the appalling summer weather, and the raindrops on it pretty much sum up my day.
