Dow Gardens

In Midland, Michigan (about 75 miles from our house), there is a big chemical company called  Dow Chemical, or Midland Dow. According to which site you look at, it is either the second or third largest chemical company in the world.

The company is also very big in the community, including sponsoring  Dow Diamond which has a minor league baseball team, and the Dow Gardens.

The gardens tonight had a lighted Christmas walk that had several stations of carolers, and an indoor 20 foot poinsettia "tree." I stayed out of the indoor part, because my camera objected to the heat and humidity.

Across the top is Merrick, my nephew Matt and wife Kris (who live in Midland), my son Jeff with girlfriend Heather, and Merrick again. I never did get a picture of baby Brynn, because she was bundled up in her stroller.

The candle lanterns lit our path. Everything went swell until the ten of us tried to go out to dinner afterwards. THERE WAS AN HOUR WAIT TO BE SEATED! Hour waits and five year olds do not mix, so we headed for home.

In warmer and sunnier times, Matt and Kris and their wedding party took pictures on the garden's grounds. A pretty place.
