Outnumbered

The rain has been heavy and relentless today, apart from a brief interlude of sleet this morning. People normally turn up in great numbers to Longshaw, whatever the weather, but today kept all but the most hardy (or foolhardy) away. The staff often outnumbered the visitors in the café, the helpers at the Christmas decoration making event likewise outnumbered children, these Christmas Tree sellers outnumbered the buyers, and on my walk down to the lake (one of the most popular walks on the Estate) I singlehandedly outnumbered the walkers.
