Get out of my garden!
Do not be fooled by the butter-wouldn't-melt look of this Robin. It is being remarkably aggressive at the moment. Public enemy no.1 seems to be a Dunnock, but it did manage to see off a Collared Dove several times its size earlier. It seems to tolerate the Blue Tits for some reason, and leaves the House Sparrows alone. There are often 30+ of them in roving gangs around the area, so perhaps Robin is wise to keep his distance from them.
I did intend to go out today, but after I'd finished compiling my last Fungi Group Newsletter for the year, I decided a restful afternoon was called for. It's been quite a busy week and I'm at Longshaw again tomorrow.
