Through the Oblong Window

Another day of rain and wind with the stonework on buildings blackened by the wet onslaught. Despite a few muttering in the ranks, I dragged His Lordship out to do combat with the elements.
Despite my ambiguous relationship with Edinburgh's hordes of tourists forever bunched along the city centre pavements, I could only feel a tad sorry for those who trudged the streets today encased in plastic capes with 'I Love Scotland' emblazoned in big letters on the backs. You have to wonder why.

We ended up in the undercroft of St Giles Cathedral where I found these little windows sunk deep into the walls.

With the rain pounding the windows and the fallen leaves doing the can can round the door, HL and I are now holed up back home and about to decorate the Christmas tree. It seems only yesterday we were packing the decorations away at the beginning of the year. How times flies when you're having fun!

Hopefully I will be able to share my fun with you for a long time to come on these pages. Blipfoto deserves another chance if we can make it work by owning it ourselves, this despite the many singed fingers and grievances since March.
