Star
Coughton Court National Trust house is all decked up for Christmas. The volunteers and others have made lots of decorations, mainly rather tasteful rustic things with dried slices of fruit, clove studded oranges, bay leaves and cinnamon sticks, with lots of greenery and berries on the big stone window ledges, all reflecting off the copper pots and silver ware dotted around. Everywhere smells lovely, of fir trees and spices.
Some of the volunteers have made these folded paper stars out of old Christmassy sheet music, to hang on the trees.
I had a turkey sandwich and a mince pie, and felt rather festive.
Extra is some white doves in the church porch in the grounds of the property.
