Concert Time
We went to a wonderful concert at one of the Bellingham churches tonight. It was a fundraising event for two local nonprofit organizations -- Interfaith Coalition and Northwest Youth Services.
The music was an eclectic mix including a Bach Fugue on the pipe organ, classical works for oboe, violin and piano, and Gershwin songs. The performers were all world-class, and it was a very entertaining program.
I love going to to concerts at this church -- the building is beautiful, the acoustics are good, and the pews have very comfortable cushions. I also like the design of the pulpit and the communion table with their carved motifs. I think they were made by a member of the congregation.
There was an additional attraction tonight -- a huge selection of (free) desserts were offered after the concert.
Our friends Connie and Andy drove us to the concert and came back to our house for Belgian beer afterwards. I've recruited them to help me make room in The Beer Fridge for new stock.
