Fishing

Another awesome day, hardly any wind, sunny and warm. We spent the morning in the estuary with the kids kayaking and playing in the sand. At times this weird sea fog briefly rolled in, kind of drifting over you but not really the sun. Although these kids do look at a little engulfed ...

Then in the afternoon some of the blokes kayaked into the great blue yonder on a hunting and gathering mission. It was an awesome day for a kayak and we returned with mussels and paua (abalone) as an entree to feed 9 adults and 9 kids, or thereabouts. And we had a great kayak and saw a few seals. Then the big cookup, more eating, more wine, more excellent conversation.

Finally, onto the beach at 10pm for one of the most surreal experiences. As the tide went out the sand stayed wet and the stars reflected in it as a mirror image. You felt like you were amongst the stars they were up and down, all around you. The closest I have been to space travel - amazing.

I tried to capture them, with limited success. Star photography tips welcome.

Have backblipped the weekends shots.
