First rule of Film Club....

Today was tricky. Work was really pressured and tears were shed. Not by me but they may as well have been.

Today I was working at one of my libraries that has a lot of challenging young people. I have some events to get the teens engaged - first up was showing a film a few weeks ago after the library shut for the day.

They behaved badly, they swore, they threw popcorn. They left without saying thank you.

In the intervening weeks, the youth service, security and the PCSOs have been down to try to sort out the anti social behaviour. It feels like an uphill struggle.

I worked there today...and a big group of young people, including the rowdy ones were sat in the middle of the library, feet on chairs...and...despite not acknowledging me in the last five months..one of the hardnuts shouted out..

"Hey! is it Film Night tonight?"

It made my day.
