Today's the day ................................ to get drenched

You really needed a raincoat and an umbrella today if you were out and about - and even then you would have got drenched. How miserable for people who have come to the Lake District on holiday. But then, as they keep being told, if we didn't have all this rain - we wouldn't have the lakes.

These orange Californian poppies did their best to brighten things up - but they were struggling against the leaden skies and the unrelenting drizzle. Much better to stay curled up and wait for a change in the weather ...........................
