Happy Birthday to Me!

Like all the other recent special days I have been approaching this one with a little trepidation and slightly wishing I could just make it go away. In a world which is not quite of our choosing and where we are aiming for stability exceptional days stand out a little too much for the wrong reasons.

However it has actually been a really rather lovely day, not least as I am lucky enough that my birthday is always in school holidays so I have the kids for company all day. So in no particular order there has been breakfast and presents in bed, a long dog walk, shopping, playing my excellent new board game, lying on the bed reading, a bubble bath, an online barrecore class, singing and cake.

Possibly the most chilled, low-key birthday I have ever had and, do you know, none the worse for it. I have been remembered and treated by lots of my lovely friends and family and I have been able to relax and pretty much please myself all day.

All this relaxing has clearly affected my brain as I have set myself a challenge to do the splits before my next birthday. Fortunately for you all I decided not to post the "before" picture.

And now I declare birthdover over for another 46 weeks.
