Town and country

Spotted this on my travels. What a beautifully simple and sumptuous decoration for a country church lychgate, in a Kentish village not too far from here. I love living where we do, on the doorstep of London but close to the countryside. The bellringers were practising in the church belfry. Such a very English scene and sound.
