Golden hour

It is known as the 'golden hour', that magical period before dusk when the late afternoon light takes on a tinge of gold. This afternoon, under a watery blue autumn sky, our copper beech glowed in beautiful contrast with a paler tree crown of yellowing leaves beyond the garden fence. Every season has its magical moments in our constantly varying English climate. This was one of them.
