Breakfast binge: day 3 filling flax

I've been dipping into that treasure trove which is the 'flavour thesaurus' by Niki Segnit recently to help me create tasty combinations for my breakfast bowl.

Flax, like so many grains, is relatively neutral so it can do with a bit of dressing up. With a clutch of rpiening pears there was no question that was going to be the principle fruit. The surprise pairing in this was cardammon - which I adore, but never think to include at breakfast time. But it works: clean and fruity and bright.
