For the next ten days I am taking Marjorie round the Shropshire Ring. As always with boats there was an initial problem: the ultimate nightmare. The fridge wasn't working.

As a friend said in a concerned text message, with no means of chilling the beer and wine, a serious rethink would be required. Fundamental. Anyway, sorted now.

So she is moored near Sandbach and I've found a pub which is showing the football. Am I unpatriotic to have backed Italy to win? I think not. As my son said, you'll be happy either way.
