Cyclists' Touring Club
A busy morning eating out / shopping for us! We went to the new John Lewis store at York to avail ourselves of a free coffee and cake. We had each been sent a voucher which expired today! We then went grocery shopping and had lunch out as well....what a life eh?
Today's photo is of a plaque that is attached to the wall of the former White Horse public house in the village. It is the symbol of the Cyclists' Touring Club (the initials CTC are on the plaque). These were seals of approval given for service to the club - places such as hotels and restaurants. The White Horse at Bramham was used for meetings and so was awarded a plaque.
The pub has been converted to houses now and the sign has recently been given this garish makeover - I have included an extra shot which I took (a year ago, sorry) showing the former colour scheme.
