A slice of Lesley's life

Not all black and white

A new doc for J today. A little tough getting him there as he is really done with spending the little energy he has with doctors but definitely worthwhile. We are lucky enough to have been put in touch with the man who is setting up the UK's first concussion clinic modelled on one he worked at in Boston. We have two plans to build the boy up - one physical and one mental to work on his concentration and alertness. The former we can start on our own and then we may get a PT in if we think that will help. The latter means a referral to a neuropsychologist so more appointments but at least something new. According to today's doc, 90% of concussions in U16s get better in a week. For the other 10% it's up for grabs. And time is the big factor but he does believe that there are actions we can take to accelerate the process. And if nothing else it will give us all a focus.

It all fits nicely with stumbling across SuperBetter and in a timely fashion the book arrived today.

My cold / weird cold symptoms have all but gone and I even managed to conduct a webinar.

I think we can score this one a good day.

Oh, this is One Canada Square at Canary Wharf, where the doc is housed - just about as far across town from us as you can get.
