Gay Parita's
Back-blipped 17.09.15...
A fantastic day on "the mother road". We started off by riding through the Missouri hills...a glorious winding wooded ride, rather like the Pirbright Bends, but much more of them.
Naturally, one stop was at the World's Largest Rocking Chair (that doesn't rock any more - health and safety gone mad again) at Fanning, Missouri before more twisting roads of Devil's Elbow. This was what the ride was all about, for sure!
Another break along the way was at Redmons (the largest gift shop in the world) which proved to be a huge warehouse selling everything you could possibly want and more besides. Cue a quick photo opportunity for Mr A, since the cycling club that he and The Boy belong to is called Redmon CC.
Next stop was at Gay Parita's where we met and talked with the late Gary's son, Steve. Mr A bought a USA flag and attached it to the aerial on the rear of the Electraglide...perhaps he was hoping to relive Easy Rider? As you can see from the pic, it was a Blipper's paradise for photos.
Late in the evening I got talking to a group of truckers from Ohio, who had stopped for the night at Joplin. A lovely bunch and it was great to chat. Best of all, I was allowed up into the cab of the biggest truck I have ever seen!
