And I think to myself....
My office faces the runway of the airport.
There is no real traffic of people past the office - the occasional delivery drive walking past, or someone from one of the other offices moving to the other one. Occasionally one of the two labs from the offices at the end.
On Monday just around lunchtime, my attention was taken, by a black flash shooting past at foot level, and thought... wow fast moving doggie.
When I met up with the people from next door at the coffee van; we were all watching two gal climbing the grassy verge which separates us from the airport. Dave the Coffee man said, "they are dog walkers, they just lost one of their dogs.
We all stood and giggled for a bit, but the humour in the situation disappeared when I got home and spotted a pictures of a little fluffy cookapoo marked "Missing", on FB.
My anxiety for it increased as every day, the photo was shared further and further a field. with sightings of the pup from my work, to four miles away near my home. On the way to work in the morning I shouted the dogs name , and same again on the way home.
There were no postings on Thursday at all - and I had started to fear the worst; but then tonight, After a long day at work, and a very windy cycle home -"FOUND"
Poor wee pup - it was three miles from where it went missing, scared and frightened running and lost, but what was amazing - the number of times the picture was shared, and the sheer number of folk who were taking time out of their day when a sighting was made, who headed over to help look for him.
The internet is an amazing tool when it's used properly.
