Diary of an Edinburgher

Bailey takes over

Bailey came for a visit today while her mum zoomed off on her bike. I took both dogs out for a run on the Links while JR made a sumptuous (belated) birthday lunch for Bailey's mum. A bottle of prosecco was cracked open to celebrate some good news too. And we could sit in the sun in the garden and watch the daft dogs charging about.

I have waited four years for the Rugby World Cup to come around again, and what do I do? I go off on holiday and will miss a huge number of matches!!! Though not, fortunately, the final few games. Not only that, we'll miss a gathering of about 60 schnauzers that Bailey's mum told us about. Imagine that sight!

Virgin East Coast Trains have given us a 'goodwill gesture' of travel vouchers worth £44.30, about half the cost of the ticket we mislaid (and had to pay again). But they could have ignored my pleas for clemency didn't really need to do anything. I'll certainly be more careful at the ticket machine in future.

Archie is now enjoying sole use of the antler. Bailey kept taking it off him and chewing it, just because she could.

Thinking of our pals A & B today, hoping all goes well.

PS Popped a couple of extra shots in yesterday's blip of the impossibly handsome Duke.
