Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

A carrot a day...

The new but nippy shoes were returned to the shop today. I seem to becoming more sensible about shoes, trying them out at home for an evening, and dismissing them at the slightest twinge. And not before time - I am nearly in my dotage! I did buy another pair, but not the kind I was supposed to be looking for. But so far, so good. Feet not complaining.

I accidentally found myself in a phone shop, stroking the new iPhones. Of course, a personable young chap soon appeared by my side to chat to me... All sounded very tempting. And this lot offer a 'free' Spotify account, which solves the problem of storage of your music. Hmmmm...

When I arrived home and opened the door, I was greeted by... Nothing.

No Archie rushing to see me.

In fact, even when I called his name, there was a delay, then he came charging out of the lounge, along with Bailey! JR had gone up the Hill, and met them. Bailey's mum was going out for lunch, so it saved Bailey being left on her own. Bailey's mum arrived after yet another birthday lunch, bearing cake...

JR was making soup, and Archie goes crazy at the sound of carrots being chopped. He doesn't get a whole one - this was just for the photo.

Hope the carrot with doggie tooth marks didn't end up in the soup...
