Recording another piece for STV Edinburgh, the Cycling Historian this time at Duddingston Loch, and most particularly Dr Neil's Garden. It's a lovely little space, that always seems so quiet, tucked away being a large wall, with no sign to advertise its existence. In itself it's an interesting space, but there's a lovely little Playfair-designed tower in one corner, which was home to the Duddingston Curling Society, which just happens to have drawn up the rules for the sport that are pretty much used in the same form today.

Had a lovely interview with the president of the Garden Trust, and Blair (cameraman and editor extraordinaire) had fun with filler shots of water features, wildlife and Arthur's Seat.

It's funny, I get reasonably nervous beforehand, but as soon as I'm actually doing anything to camera it all evaporates - a bit like when I used to (years ago) do a bit of public speaking. Ah to get my break. At least I'm building a portfolio, and have something I can show production companies I've got some ideas for...
