The House

I thought the least I could do after several days of prattling along about my "old family homestead in Hollywood" was post a picture of it.  It's definitely unique among many unique homes in the Hollywood Hills.  When my grandmother built it in 1923 it was surrounded by open land on all sides.  That's no longer the case obviously.  Not only are there houses nearby but they appear to be within inches of each other.  And yes, the California sky really is that blue.

Well.my weekend excursion with my son to see the house and meet the present owner has been just wonderful.  We were treated to a tour of the house and a most delightful visit with Morgan Woodward.  If you're so inclined, look him up on the internet -- you'll find him a very interesting character.

We head home in the morning and then back to work.  It's been very, very hot here and there are so many people crowding the streets that it's hard to navigate.  It's been a wonderful visit, especially being with my son who came down from his home in San Francisco for the weekend. I have to admit though that I'll be glad to get back to the cooler weather in Washington and a considerably more gentle and quiet environment.
