Where am I today 1?...
I went to a meeting of the people behind the Manchester Curious event last night. I'm a bit late to the party. My head was spinning as I tried to assimilate as much as I could about the event and not appear too stupid. Very difficult balancing act for me that is.
In a nutshell, this mini festival is a celebration of Manchester architecture that will offer the public the chance to visit and get behind the scenes of some of Manchester's architectural treasures and some of the much lesser known venues. It will include places such as Chetham's School of Music, the Whitworth Art Gallery and HOME. Others were being discussed last night but they have to be confirmed so I can't put them here as yet.
It starts with a launch party (not too late for that party though) on 1st October and then there are three days of events. You can book them on www.manchestercurious.com when the website goes live. I'll let you know when that happens. This is an inaugural event and a bit of a learning curve for everyone but it does seem to be going well so far. We will learn from this one and fine tune the event for next year. Hopefully, it can become another fixture in Manchester's crowded cultural calendar. For blippers, I think it's a great event giving us access to places we can't noramally get our cameras/iPads/smart phones.
I'm helping with the social media side getting the event noticed on TWITTER, Facebook, Instagram and on here of course. I've been tweeting pictures like the one above and people have to guess where in the city I am. Easy one today I think....
