St. Ann's Square....
St. Ann’s Square is one of my favourite spots in the city. It’s a little, traffic free oasis of calm surrounded by some of the most beautiful architecture in the city. They have lots of markets here including part of the wonderful Christmas Markets that are only a few weeks away now. But nothing much was going on when I walked through today. There was some late summer sun and the trees were in full leaf on the cusp of taking on their Autumn colours. I took some pictures. The fountain in the centre of the square features a stylised cotton flower bud, a reminder of Manchester's days as Cottinopolis, the cotton capital of the world.
