Times Of My Life

Eye Eye

An occasional assault by butterfly today; Painted Lady, Red Admiral, Small Tortoiseshell, and Peacock.  Also, the garden was alive with honey bees and bumble bees.  Alas, all too fleet for me and my wee Lumix, so this is the best of a bad lot.

Not gone far from home today, as we await sad news of G's grandfather.  He is 99 years old, and suffering from Alzheimer's.  On his 90th birthday he gave a speech, and then folded up the piece of paper it was written on and put it in his top pocket, commenting that he would keep it safe so he could use the same one on his 100th birthday, which would be on 7th October.

His two daughters - G's mother and aunt - have been sitting with him since last night when he slipped into a coma, and all the rest of us have just been waiting at home, hoping and praying that he will slip peacefully away soon, to join his wife who went on ahead many years ago.
