Butterfly Bonus

It's not been the best summer for butterflies in my part of the world, but today was an improvement. It wasn't wonderfully warm or sunny this morning when we went for a short walk around Trentham Gardens. In spite of this, in the floral labyrinth, there were plenty of insects. Bees and hovers galore and a good selection of butterflies including this one - a Peacock Butterfly.

Other types we spotted were the tortoiseshell, a few whites, and a small blue. There were even a couple of different types of shield bugs.

Leaving all the crowds behind we came home to potter around in the garden.

I've just started to upload my Arctic trip photos to blip from here.
