Wrong Photo!

This is completely the wrong photo for today!

We'd set off for a completely new walk in The Peak District, but early on in the walk I realised I hadn't got an memory card in the camera, and no spare either. So I carried my camera all day without being able to use it.

Our walk was lovely. We started at the Crich Tramway Museum in Derbyshire. Our first stop on the walk was the Crich Memorial. It is dedicated to the memory of solders from the Sherwood Foresters Regiment who died in both World Wars. The view from the top was worth the effort. The information in our walking guide book said you could see Lincoln Cathedral on a clear day. Unfortunately it wasn't that clear today.

The walk then took us across the end of the tram tracks at the museum, and downhill towards the Cromford Canal. It's no longer in use but is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for its entire length from Cromford to Ambergate.

Then we had a bit of climb back up to the Tramway Museum.

Once we got back home we just sat in the garden enjoying the sunshine for about an hour. I sat watching this squirrel sizing up the peanuts I'd put out and then scampering off to bury them. It was funny watching our neighbour's cat watching the squirrel too. She's not much of a stalker but her instincts are still there. And I'm sure the squirrel is much faster than she would be.
