The mood of the day...

... went down hill.

After uploading yesterday's blip at Heathrow, we made our way to Kings Cross station for the train north, with return tickets on the East Coast line.

We reached the station, expecting to have time for a cup of coffee before our train and were greeted with the Departures board showing our train had been cancelled, as had all the other trains heading north, because of power difficulties near Grantham..

We were advised to cross over the road to St Pancras station and take a convoluted alternative route involving more changes, slower over-crowded trains and no refreshment facilities. Joy unbounded!

I felt this couple gave a hint of the mood on one over-crowded train.
