Desert Sands

These are part of the high sand dunes along the coast north of Aberdeen at Balmedie. As I walked along the larks were competing with each other in song and sand pippets flying from grassy tufts across the sand. Little violets grew along side many other little wild flowers in sheltered corners.
The woman in the distance is carrying a small child.
