Farewell sakalasafari
This is the face of somebody who is going to see her family in a little over 24 hours (and a surprise at that, they’re not expecting her until Sunday!).
I'm sure sakalasafari will agree with me that travelling is one of the most incredible things you can do with your time on planet earth, and my life has been enriched beyond measure by seeing just a small fraction of the world. However, travel should come with a warning: having friends and family living around the world can be the hardest thing ever. Airport goodbyes can definitely go into my Room 101.
When I faced the prospect of having a roomie for a whole entire year, I was a little worried. I’m selfish and I have a tendency to subject my OCD habits on other people. ‘What if I don’t get enough me-time?’ “What if explode if she doesn’t do things exactly like I would do them?”
However, my fears were unfounded. The last year has been one of the most fun years of my life and this wonderful Zambian has enriched my life more than I ever thought possible. Her cheery (cheeky) nature has brought a huge amount of joy into my home (and my life!).
Mwende bwino wemundandi. Twalamonana!
(backblipping because the twin sister reads this and I didn’t want to spoil the surprise!)
