Applecross

A lovely sunny morning, some clouds came in but cleared again and been a glorious sunny day and evening, shame about those midges though!

Another early start but it has to be done and make the most of it.  Breakfast outside in the sunshine to start the day :)
Off we set for Applecross with a tea break at Loch Carron golf club along the way.  Applecross was an amazing sight to see and then the coastal route to Shieldaig and the local hotel for fish an chips :)  The route back to Ullapool was amazing too, passing through the Torridon mountains and on to Gairloch.  A lot of driving but taking turns gave us both a chance to watch the scenery pass by and take photos :)
A walk around Ardmair this evening and enjoying the sunshine and warmth.
Off to the local bar in Ullapool for a traditional music night.

Applecross is another of Scotland's beauties.  The highest road in the UK and a bit scary at times when meeting cars, motorbikes and bicycles.  Worth the long trip for the spectacular views up and down the mountains.  Shame the sun went behind the clouds when we arrived but it did add to the atmosphere of the place.  This is looking down the mountain from one of the highest points and I've added an extra photo of the view going up :)
