Elgin Cathedral

It's been a fine morning and then some rain showers at lunchtime.  The afternoon cleared into a sunny day and a lovely evening.

Up early and headed out to explore again.  Off to Elgin in the morning for a walk about and then to see the cathedral.  It rain started but we headed in to a cafe for lunch.  The afternoon was spent at Fort George and had a great time exploring the site and a tour.
After tea and we headed to see auntie Sylvia and family, mam's sister.  A great catch up and must get back to see them again soon.
A quiet evening and heading out of Banff tomorrow with the caravan.

Elgin cathedral is mostly in ruins now but some parts remain.  Really interesting to read about the history of the building and imagine how it must have once looked.  Up the tower and a great view over Elgin and down on the cathedral itself.  Shame the rain came in when I was on the roof!
