.......being there when you are not well!

Cara cut her pad while out walking the other day and I hadn't really worried as it didn't bother her, nor was she limping so I am feeling very bad and neglectful. I knew from past experience that pads heal on their own as they re-granulate. However I took her to the vets to check on it as it didn't seem to be healing at all and unfortunately it turned out to be quite deep and went through the webbing between her toes which I had simply not noticed! The vet advised that this particular area will not heal on its own, because of where it is, and required anaesthetic and stitches. It was a deep, clean cut probably from broken glass.

Poor Bruce has been patiently waiting all day to play with his chum and here he is bringing her a toy now that her op is over and she is home. However, for once she is just not interested in doing anything but sleep! He is mystified and he will be more confused when he realises that she is off walks for at least two weeks!
