A slice of Lesley's life

On the up?

I'm impressed Carlos can still lift him, let alone get any height on the throw.  The daughter is light as a feather in comparison to this great lump, despite the inevitable muscle loss.  In some ways another low day for J who basically didn't come round until about 9pm. Well not properly.  We did entice him to have a couple of dips in the pool which were brief but lots of fun. Especially with the addition of our own wildlife programme as we take it in turns to go under water and watch Albi swimming.  Essentially it seems that if J has a day where he possibly does a little too much (as he did last Thursday) it takes a few days to recover.  The positive we all have to remind ourselves is that no so long ago it took weeks to recover and even now on the recovery days he can get in a pool and have a good old mess about.  And this evening we all played table tennis and Chase the Ace before bedtime.  Actually not quite true as Anna headed off to explore the terraces whilst Carl and I took it in turns to take a beating from the boy.  And then she trounced us all at cards.

Other than that, Anna has spent the entire day with her head in a book as yesterday Carl brought half of Waterstones with him for the kids. Anna's most prized book out of the collection is the shiny, brand new Jacqueline Wilson book Katy, which is interestingly inspired by the classic, What Katy Did Next.

Given that I have filled the new fridge with deliciousness and helped to  move the old one into the lean-to to serve as a drinks / overflow food fridge, and other very important jobs like hanging new solar powered lights, (all of which would be highly blip worthy), I haven't managed quite as much reading time as Anna but I have done my bit with the very fabulous, The Lost Art of Keeping Secrets by Eva Rice.
