Today's the day.........!!

A big change in the weather over the last 24hrs, yesterday afternoon was beautifuly sunny and warm. That increase in temperature carried over to this morning, so after work this morning i went straight to the same spot i'd had my first encounter with the May flies on Tuesday this week.

Tuesday's May Fly encounter.........

There weren't hundreds of these fragile insects, but certainly more than on Tuesday morning. The poor little things were buffeted all over the place in the increasingly gusty breeze. Whether they have the ability to think, "I'd like to land on that plant over there" or they just land where the wind deposits them i don't know. They do actually have quite large wings, so maybe they do fly where they want too.

At least this fly "WILL" get a little sunshine on his frail body, well he will this morning, if he survives until this afternoon, i'm afraid he'll be getting a soaking as the next band of rain moves across the region.

This last week has been a real eye opener for me, i've been privileged to see so many small but beautiful insects, and lucky enough to be able to get some half decent images.
