Viva Espana!

Unbelievably we are entering the last hour of our road trip. Once we arrive, there will be wall to wall pool and chilled drinks on the terrace and a massive long sleep. So I shall use this time fruitfully and blip.

Unfortunately for a road trip both the drivers had a really bad night's sleep so again we weren't on the road as early as we had intended. We were also in no rush to leave the very lovely hotel. But the good news is that there has been no traffic and motorway all the way so the drivers have coped, the miles have been eaten and we are going to arrive at pretty much the time we always thought we would.

Another good lunch stop thanks to the joys of TripAdvisor, a small town in the mountains above Madrid called Buitrago deal Lozoya.

Now just passing Granada and into familiar territory. The excitement levels in the back are going through the roof, encouraged by DJ Jackson who I am delighted to report has not only survived the road trip but seems to have positively thrived. Well with us all your assessment would vary at differing points over the three days but overall I think it has gone better than any of us expected.

And our reward...a month of sunshine, pool, beach, family and friends. Now to see what the mutt makes of it all.
